Internationally known as one of the world’s greatest sprinters, Eddie Hart has established his place in history.  From his early days in Pittsburg, CA., where he grew up, he experienced athletic success.  Mr. Eddie Hart went on to attend the University of California.  He graduated from UC Berkeley in 1975 with a degree in Physical Education and with a record of outstanding athletic achievement in track and field.

Willie Ray Evers
Organizer East County Middle School Track and Field Program

Regarded as one of East County’s most successful and accomplished track and field coaches.  Willie (Billie) Ray Evers has trained many of east counties top athletes.  A native of Pittsburg, CA, and a graduate of Pittsburg High School, Mr. Evers has remained faithful to the community in which he grew up.  For over 25 years now Mr. Evers has served in developing the youth of the community.  In 1975, his first coaching experience, he coached age group track in Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and Junior Olympics League.

Nathan Slaughter- R.I.P.
Psychology Instructor/ Former Athletic Director of Merritt College
 
Nathan (Nate) Slaughter came to California in 1967 from Passaic New Jersey and attended California State University Hayward (CSUH) graduating in 1971.  While competing in track and field at CSUH Mr. Slaughter distinguished himself setting a new long jump record.  Mr. Slaughter later returned to CSUH to receive his MA Degree in Psychology.

Arthur L Williams Jr.
Assistant Vice President-Consumer Banking
 
Arthur L. Williams brings a strong financial dimension to the board.  Mr. Williams is presently responsible for managing $115 million in deposits and 14,000 customers with Wells Fargo. Additional responsibilities included managing a staff of 25 associates.  Mr. Williams also serves as liaison between the bank and the UC Berkeley community, sponsoring community events and organizing bank promotions. For more that ten years now Mr. Williams has faithfully served the financial community, and held a host of positions as he has climbed his way up the financial corporate ladder.

Eddie Hart Jr. has recently achieved his academic goals at the University of California at Berkeley and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree.  Prior to entering UC Berkeley Eddie graduated from Merritt Community College where he received his Associate Arts Degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences and General Curriculum. Eddie graduated with the following honors:  Deans list honor roll, Beta Theta Lambda chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society Award, and Associate Students of Merit Award.
